About three hours north from Duluth Minnesota is a small island community of Madeline Island. This island sits within Lake Superior and has some of the most beautiful and untouched coastline in the country. Our clients wanted to preserve this beauty and share their property with guests in the form of individual cabins dotted along the narrow site reaching down to the beach. Each unit is fully self-sustaining and has the lightest touch on the existing site while also accommodating protection to close up in the harsh winter months where the island all but abandons its human occupants.
